International Genetic Counseling Center provides services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Our genetic counselor, Ms. Maggie Law, is an Australia-trained genetic counselor (associate genetic counselor).

Education 教育

A native of Hong Kong, Ms. Law received both of her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology, and her Master of Medical Sciences in Pathology, from the University of Hong Kong. She also received her Master of Genetic Counselling degree from the University of Technology Sydney.

羅小姐是在香港長大，從香港大學獲得理學學士學位(生物技術)和醫療科學碩士學位(病理學)。她還獲得了悉尼科技大學的遺傳諮詢碩士學位。

Clinical Experience 臨床經驗

Ms. Law received her clinical training at the Clinical Genetics Service Centre, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. Prior to that, she received her clinical training at the ACT Genetic Service, Canberra Hospital, Australia. She also received her hereditary cancer clinical training at the Hereditary Cancer Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, Australia.

Over the last three years, Ms. Law has reviewed the symptoms and genetic test findings, and supported the issuance of hundreds of genetic disorder clinical reports.

Molecular Diagnostic Technologies 分子診斷技術

Ms. Law has in-depth understanding of a variety of molecular and in-vitro diagnostic methods. She has hands-on experience developing and using a wide range of molecular diagnostic technologies, including whole genome and whole exome sequencing, microarray, karyotyping, FISH, PCR, MLPA, Sanger sequencing, NIPT, RNA sequencing, carrier screening, emergency whole genome sequencing in newborn screening settings, and a range of hybridization- and gel-based analytical methods.

Regulatory Requirements and Clinical Guidelines 規範要求和臨床指南

Ms. Law has practical experience in handling clinical cases involving regulatory compliance. She is familiar with ACMG (U.S.) & ACGS (U.K.) guidelines, U.S. Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act and HIPAA regulations, GLP, ISO 15189, CAP, and CLIA requirements.
